NUDE And MONUMENT

"Nude and Monument" was a performance that took place during Sofia Art Week 2019 in the Bulgarian capital. In this work, the artist juxtaposed the vulnerability of the naked body with the imposing sculptures and monuments of former regimes. Through this contrast, the performance explored themes of power, memory, and the often-overlooked fragility of human existence in the shadow of historical authority. By engaging intimately with these oversized manifestations of power, the performance invited viewers to reflect on the relationship between the individual and collective memory, challenging the legacies of oppression while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.
